I am a second-generation photographer, born and raised in Castro Valley, California, where my family operated Worthington Photography for over 40 years. I have grown up in a family of professional photographers, under the influences of my late father, Lawrence J. Worthington, brother Wade Worthington, have studied under the most highly respected photographers in the country, and have dedicated a lifetime to photography.
My interest in landscape photography stems back to childhood trips with my dad, a world traveler and accomplished nature photographer, whose images have been displayed world-wide. My own landscape images appear in local businesses, private collections, and in calendars, prints and note cards around my hometown of Castro Valley. I am active in local art galleries and my photographs are frequently shown in exhibits. My East Bay images -- particularly Lake Chabot -- appear on the walls of San Leandro Kaiser Hospital and an exquisite wall of glass art by Kersey's Glass Works (my in-laws), created from my photograph, is the focal point of the main lobby at Eden Hospital in Castro Valley.
I enjoy sharing my love for photography with students, and I have taught hands-on weekly workshops for photographers of all levels through my studio and Castro Valley Adult and Career Education. I also facilitate photo walks and moon rise workshops with Castro Valley Photo Club, an active photography group that I started for photographers to join together and share images and ideas.
